築50年以上の古民家を、小さな家族葬ホールへと改修。古民家がもつおおらかさ、屋根組みの力強さをそのまま現し、故人を偲ぶ場として、包まれるような安心感のある場を目指した。改修にあたっては、既存の木架構をみせることを前提に耐震補強を行っている。また漆喰の壁、無垢木材の床、織部のタイルなど伝統的素材をとりいれ、古民家の良さを引き継いでいる。
かつて自分の家で故人を看取り、送り出していた頃を思い起こすような古民家のホールは、地域の人にも親しまれる存在となっている。
An old folk house that is over 50 years old has been renovated into a small family funeral hall. The aim was to preserve the generosity of an old folk house and the strength of its roof structure, and to create a space that gives an enveloping, reassuring feeling as a place to remember the deceased. During the renovation, earthquake reinforcement was carried out while leaving the existing wooden frame visible. In addition, to preserve the good qualities of the old folk house, traditional materials such as plaster walls, solid wood floors, and Oribe tiles were incorporated.
The hall in this old folk house, which evokes memories of the time when people used to care for the dying and send off their loved ones in their own home, has become a beloved presence among local people.
